Xander is going through a phase right now where he loves to wear glasses. He will wear them all day, even while playing outside or going to church. At night he will almost cry when we take them off so he can sleep. He is such a cutie!

Xander is definately 2 years old! Right now I listen to him throw tantrums everyday. Sometimes I think that he should have learned by now that tantrums don't accomplish anything after spending so much time in timeout, or in his crib until he calms down... but it hasn't made a dent. Of course it doesn't help that Covey loves to do things right now to make Xander scream - he thinks it is amusing. Needless to say Covey has spent some time in timeout as well. I was taking pictures the otherday when Covey happened to do something that Xander did not like - here is the result.

I know it has been forever since I put an update on here for Xander - so here are some new pictures of him. My friend Karen took these pictures in November right as he was about to turn 2 years old. He did not want to sit still for a single picture, so we were all chasing after him. (Smile) Enjoy the pictures!

Xander is going to be turning 2 years old at the end of this month. He still continues to be my handful... but I love him so much! He is starting to talk more, and it is really cute to see him try to say prayers, or talk to Covey and Daisy. He seems to finally be over the jealous phase with Jerrica, and instead seems to really love and protect her. He will often go over and talk to her quietly, or rub her head gently when she is upset. He also asks to have her sit on his lap and he will put his arm around her and just smile. (It melts my heart) Here is my Xander - isn't he getting to be so handsome?

Xander had a more exciting weekend then normal. As I have said before Xander is really starting to be a climber. However he is not very good at balance, or being able to get down from the places that he climbs. Saturday he got to learn more about what can happen when you climb. Brandt and I were home getting dinner ready when we heard a crash in the bathroom. Brandt ran in there and found Xander crying on the floor with a nice cut above his eye. It seems that he climbed up on the toilet seat, and then slipped hitting his head on the back of the toilet tank. We bandaged his head, but the wound seemed pretty deep so I took him in to Urgent Care to see if he needed stitches.
Xander was really good going to the doctor to get his cut looked at. Luckily he did not need any stitches. The doctor said they would normally glue the wound, but that the stuff can sometimes make the skin itch, and it would be much worst if Xander was trying to scratch the stuff off of the cut. So all in all I got to go to Urgent Care, pay a pretty co-pay, and have them put on some Neosporin... But like I said at least he didn't need stitches!
Sunday was also interesting. I felt like I was so on top of things, I had the kids dressed and fed, and was only getting out of the house 5 minutes late. When I got to church I was getting the kids out of the car when I realized that my hand was wet after picking Xander up. That is right - he had a nice blow out diaper. Since he is going to be 2 yrs old soon I no longer carry around extra clothes for him... Brandt and I decided it wasn't worth going home to get a change of clothes (It is a fifteen minute drive each way) so Xander got to go to nursery in a nice button up the front shirt, diaper, and socks. Yep he had a nice Tom Cruise going on, except that he was missing the sunglasses.

Xander is growing up so fast! He loves his big brother Covey, and tries to be just like him in so many ways. The latest way that Xander is acting older just melts my heart. Every night before bed we say family prayers together. After that either Brandt or I will help Covey say his personal prayers while the other person tucks Xander into bed. Well 3 days ago that all changed. After saying family prayer Xander walked over to the edge of Covey's bed and folded his arms to say personal prayers like Covey does. So we helped Xander say his prayers saying one sentence at a time, that he would then try to repeat. (He isn't saying more than a dozen words or so that we can understand at this point) At the end of the prayer he said "Amen" and then walked over to the crib to go to bed. He has done that 3 nights in a row now, and I think it is the sweetest thing to watch. He has such a happy smile on his face after saying amen, I m glad that he is excited to pray to his Father in Heaven.

Lately I can't believe how big my little boy is getting. He had his first sunday in nursery last sunday. He is 18 months old and only weights 4-5 lbs less than Covey. He is definately different than Covey. Xander is not a picky eater. He will eat almost anything, including fish. The only thing he will not eat is broccoli. On the other hand, he does not like going to sleep as much as Covey did. He is still sleeping in a crib, so he doesn't have much of a choice in the matter, but he will start crying the minute he realizes that we are starting to get ready to bedtime.
Xander will also stick up for himself. (He will also cry like crazy to let you know if he feels Covey isn't treating him right) Since Xander and Covey are both so close in weight Xander is not afraid to go and push Covey down on the floor is he is being picked on. Unfortunately he has learned from Covey how to push, shove, and also slam fingers in doors.... sigh. I keep trying to explain to Covey that Xander learns things from Covey, and that if Covey wants to be treated nice he needs to treat Xander nice too. Just one of the joys of being a parent.
All in all, it seems like it was just yesterday that Xander was born, and now he is getting to be so big. I can't believe how fast the time has gone! My baby boy is now walking, talking (Some), feeding himself, etc....

Xander is enjoying having a little sister. He does seem to have his moments where he seems jealous of the attention that Jerrica gets, but overall he is handeling it well. He normally doesn't show Jerrica too much attention, but every now and then he does enjoy holding her (With our help of course). The first couple times he held her he would just sit there and look down at her at giggle. It was pretty cute.

This morning Xander had a well baby check up. He is healthy and doing well. I can't believe how big he is getting!. Interestingly he truely is a lot different from Covey. The doctor had Xander's height checked twice today. She was so surprised at how much he had grown in the last 3 months, that she had them double check it right in front of her. Xander is topping the growth chart!!! He is now 23lbs.... Only about 6 lbs less than Covey is now. (And he is 3.5 years old)

Tonight Xander really started to take his first steps! He has been trying to walk, but has always had to hold on to something for support. Tonight he was giggling and laughing having a blast trying to walk from Mommy to Daddy. It won't be long at all and I'll be chasing him around the house!

Xander is such a ball of energy. He is constantly getting into everything... Much more than Covey ever did. Needless to say he keeps us on our toes. He loves to empty all of my lower kitchen cupboards, try to eat Daisy's dog food, and his new favorie things is..... (Drum roll) playing in the toilet. No matter ho much we try to make sure the bathroom door gets kept closed, it is impossible to catch it everytime, since Covey is still potty training. Covey does not help much with the problem. He likes to sit and watch, and then when we are about to see Xander go "Xander Potty", just so that we will think he is helping and not just watching.

Xander is now a year old. He is a little ball of energy, and unlike Covey, loves to eat everything. (Including Poison Ivy and
Mr. Clean....) Needless to say he keeps us busy. He is also starting to talk now, and will repeat after us when we say "daddy" or "yucky".
Covey thinks it is fun to try to get Xander to talk and I will often find him trying to teach Xander new sounds.
Here are some picture of Xander with his cake. He loved it, and we eventually had to cut him off so he wouldn't make himself sick eating too much.

We have noticed a few things different between Xander and Covey by this point. One is that Xander is constantly full of smiles whenever he is happy and someone is talking to him with a smile. We also get some funny stares from him at times too. So the debate is on! Who does he look like now? See pics below:

There came a point after bringing him back from the hospital that Xander couldn't go any longer without a bath! I think he rather enjoyed the warm water on his skin, but gave us the "death to you all" squeal when we decided to wash his head. More pics below:

Alexander Logan was born on November 24th. He weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 19 inches long
