2 Month Check-up

August 11th, 2010

Jerrica had her 2 month check up today. She now weighs 11 lbs 1 oz, and is 23 3/4 inches long. In other words she is a lot like the boys were... She is below the average weight, above the average height, and has a smaller head than average.... Yep she follows the pattern of all of my kids :) The doctor also told me that I am lucky because she sleeps longer at night then the average kid does at this age. To me, Jerrica is getting big! She can scoot around the floor, she smiles & tries to talk to you, and is all around doing a lot more than she used too.

My Little Girl

July 28, 2010

I can't believe how much Jerrica has grown. Granted she was a big baby when she was born... but she seems to have grown so much in just 2 short months. I am amazed at how different she is from both Covey and Xander. For starters she, unlike the boys, hates pacifiers and wants nothing to do with them, and she doesn't like to drink from a bottle if I am not able to nurse her. On top of small things like that she also has a completely different temperament. She is so content to lay on the floor or in her chair and just look around. She very rarely cries a lot, or gets really upset. When it comes to sleeping - well all I can say is she sleeps GREAT! She has been basically sleeping through the night for 2 weeks now, and also taking naps during the day. I was so scared toward the end of my pregnancy because Brandt and I got so little sleep after Xander. I remember the first two and a half months after having Xander, Brandt and I wanted to pull out our hair we were both so tired. He did not want to sleep at night, and he was never happy unless he was being held. I got pretty good at sleeping sitting up in a chair. I am so grateful that my little girl is a good sleeper.

The newest change in Jerrica though happened last night. Up until now Jerrica would smile occasionally, but not necessarily at us. Last night Brandt and I were watching a movie after putting the boys to bed. I got done nursing Jerrica and was holding her in front of me, so that she could see my face. When she would make eye contact with me, I would smile and stick out my tongue. Jerrica would then get a huge grin, and try to stick out her tongue. She did this off and on though the whole movie. Having my baby smile at me is one of my favorite moments as a mother. It completely melts my heart and makes me feel the love that they have for me - before they can vocalize it themselves. Last night I found myself so completely happy just playing with my baby girl before bed, I wouldn't trade that moment for the world! I thank Heavenly Father for the wonderful blessing that all my children are to me everyday.

They are Here!

May 24th, 2010

This is how we announced to family and friends that Jerrica was born. Brandt filmed the first scenes in the hospital twice and put them together to make it look like we had twins. It amazed us how many people actually believed that we did have twins after watching this video. Jerrica is 21 inches long and weighed 9 lbs. The delivery went easy, and labor was only 4 hours long. I was very ready to be done being pregnant. The day before we went to the hospital to be induced I had the stomach flu and could not even keep a popcicle down. I was miserable... but I felt a ton better once she was born. :)
