January Update

January 2010

Covey is very excited about a change that is happening this year for him... Covey went into the school at the end of last year for some speech assesment testing. He has been having a bit of trouble talking so that people can understand him. At first Covey refused to talk to the speach therapists, and we had to go back later on for a second try. The second time I brought Covey to the school, he opened up and talked to the therapists.

After reviewing the test scores the school decided that Covey qualifies for some speech classes. He is super excited that this year he get to "go to school". He will be going to school 1 day a week for a small 30 minute class. He has had one class already and loved it! They played games and worked on the "K" sound. Now he often says "Mama, I want go school".

Covey Goes Flying

December 2009

This month Covey and Mommy got to go flying with Grandpa Horrocks. Grandpa is working on getting his pilots license, and we got to go flying with him while he practiced touch downs and take offs. Covey was scared to death of the plane in the begining. As Grandpa was checking everyting on the plane before we even got in, Covey was clinging to Mommy going "I scared". When we got into the plane he cried and cried. (Note the pictures) By the time Grandpa took off the first time Covey had stopped crying and was fine. Now Covey want to go flying again, and this time bring Daddy with.

Battle Scars!

March 2009

Covey normally enjoys going to bed, but one night mom and dad heard a "bump in the night" followed shrieking. It was no ghost, but it WAS Covey falling off his bed and smashing his face on the drawer handle beneath the bed. He was pretty upset, so even though it was 2:00am we let him watch an episode of Go Diego, Go! and he calmed down a half hour later. Poor Kid!

Covington's 2nd Birthday

October 2008

Covey is now 2 years old!!! On saturday after General Conference we had a small birthday celebration with just Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa Horrocks. Covey was really excited. We had apple cinnamen muffins because we were going to have cake on sunday. Covey did try to blow out the candles on his muffin, but was not very sucessful. He enjoyed watching the flames, and then giggled quite a bit when Daddy blew out the candles.

For his birthday Covey got a card from his Great Grandma & Grandpa Horrocks. Inside of the card Covey got a two dollar bill. He was excited to have money. (They learn so quick huh?) He walked around holding that bill for at least 10 minutes. From Mommy and Daddy Covey got 2 large cars to play with. From Grandma and Grandpa Horrocks he got another car and a bus to play with, along with some mini M&M's to eat. Also Grandma and Grandpa gave the family a toy horse to use while our kids are young. Covey has loved riding on that horse so much.

On Sunday we celebrated Covey's birthday over at his friend Akira's house. Covey and Akira are 4 days apart in age, and so her mom made a train cake, for them to both share. It was very cute!!! Covey still hasn't grasped the concept of blowing out the candles, so Akira helped him.

After singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles, Akira wanted to give Covey a little kiss, but he wanted nothing to do with that... he just wanted the cake. (Smile)

Dandelion Fun

September 2008

Covey loves to go outside and play. He is always bringing me his shoes, and socks asking to go out. Then if I tell him that we arn't going outside right that minute, he will start bring me every pair of my own shoes, trying to get me to give in. Just reciently he has started going around the yard and picking danelions and blowing their seeds all over. It is really cute, because he will sit and gigle afterwards.

Helping with the dishes

Covey loves to get up on a chair and "help" us as we do the dishes. It mainly consists of him playing in the water and sticking silverware in the dis drainer. Still it is a bit fun to watch

Learning to eat like Mommy & Daddy

July 2008

Covey is learning to eat like an adult. He is finally grasping the concept of using a spoon but is only successful when it comes to eating oatmeal, because it sticks so well. Today he got to eat grilled Cheese, and Tomato Soup with us at dinner. He had a lot of fun dipping his grilled cheese, and he also really enjoyed the bath after he was done.

Summer Fun

May 2008

In may we had a company party that we went to over at one of Brandt's co-workers house. It was a lot of fun. They had slip-n-slides and little pools and water slides for the kids to play on. Covey wasn't as fond of all the water (I think it was because of all the other kids that were there) but her loved to play on their Giant trampoline. He also really enjoyed drinking from a water bottle all by himself.

Help Me!!!

April 2008

Covey decided to take the lid off of the trash can in his bedroom, and play with it. He got the lid open and put it over his head, but could not figure out how to get it off. I went to check on him when I heard him crying... However I just stood there and laughed, and then went to get the camera. Arn't I such a nice mom?

I'm Daddy's Boy

Covey got ahold of Brandt's Playstation controller, and had fun starting his game. He was amused that everytime he pressed a button something happened. (Although it was just the credits for the game comming up at the begining - but it was still special for him)

Halloween

October 2007

Since Covey is still learning to walk really good, we decided that he should be a penquin this year, so that he could waddle around. He hated wearing his costume the whole night, until we got home, then he ran off and played perfectly happy.
